In our efforts to enhance quality at North Carolina A&T State University, the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter has been awarding annual scholarships to Cincinnati areas students attending NC A&T State University since 1993. This scholarship represents the Office of Alumni Relations and its pledge to assist the University in attracting and retaining quality students.

Cincinnati Scholarship Application Window & Deadlines:

The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter accepts scholarship applications from Nov 1st thru January 31st of the next calendar year. (i.e., Example: Nov 1st 2019 – Jan 31st 2020)

• APPLICATION MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT JANUARY 31st!
• INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED

The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter Executive Committee can make changes to these deadlines as appropriate or needed.

Application Process:

1. The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter Scholarship Committee will review applicants in the February meeting of each year and present recommendations for scholarships by the chapter’s March meeting.
2. The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter will vote on recommendations and make final approval in the March meeting of each year.
3. Students will be notified for receipt or denial of the scholarship after each Cincinnati Alumni Chapter March meeting.
4. The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter will send recipient’s information & award to NC A&T SU by April 15th of each calendar year.
5. PAYOUT FOR STUDENT IS FOR FALL SEMESTER ONLY. UNIVERSITY WILL APPLY AWARD DIRECTLY TO STUDENT’S ACCOUNT

The Cincinnati Chapter awards two types of scholarship levels:

• Public
• Private (3 levels)

Cincinnati Chapter Scholarship Levels (Two)

Public – Any student attends NC A&T SU from Cincinnati-Metro area

• $1000 Scholarship Award
  • This scholarship will be administered as follows: $1000.00 Fall Semester Only

Alumni Only – Any student attends NC A&T SU from Cincinnati-metro area whose parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents are Cincinnati chapter alumni ONLY. There are three (3) different Alumni Only scholarship levels:

• $500 Scholarship Award
  • Requirements:
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents are Alumni of NC A&T SU.
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents that are Alumni of NC A&T SU are current members (dues paid) of the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents have current chapter membership (dues paid) at least one year prior to student applying & dues paid the year the student is applying.

• $1500 Scholarship Award
  • Requirements:
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents are Alumni of NC A&T SU
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents are Alumni of NC A&T SU are current members (dues paid) of the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents have current chapter membership (dues paid) at least two years prior to student applying & dues paid the year the student is applying.
    • Participation of 50% chapter events &/or meetings
      • Chapter determines this by reviewing attendance sheets during chapter meetings and/or pictures of and for events.
    • Cincinnati Chapter Scholarship Golf Outing sponsorship
      • Sponsor a hole the calendar year of student applying.
        • Blue ($400) or Gold ($500).
      • Golf Outing sponsorship could be either from:
        • Family of student or a solicited sponsorship.
        • Must be paid before student arrives at A&T in the Fall & prior to the Golf Outing.
• $2500 Scholarship Award
  • Requirements:
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents are Alumni of NC A&T SU
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents are Alumni of NC A&T SU are current members (dues paid) of the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter
    • The parents, uncle/aunts, grandparents have current chapter membership (dues paid) at least two years prior to student applying & dues paid the year the student is applying.
    • Participation of 75% chapter events &/or meetings
      • Chapter determines this by reviewing attendance sheets during chapter meetings and/or pictures and events
    • Cincinnati Chapter Scholarship Golf Outing sponsorship
      • Sponsor a hole the calendar year of student applying.
        • Platinum ($750).
        • Golf Outing sponsorship could be either from:
          • Family of student or a solicited sponsorship.
          • Must be paid before student arrives at A&T in the Fall & prior to the Golf Outing.
